Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Certified SEO collects, how we use it, when we share it, and what choices you have. It applies to Certified SEO.com (the Website) and to the courses, digital products, member areas, communications, and any tools we provide (together with the Website, the Services).
In this Policy, Certified SEO, SEO Nation LLC, we, us, and our are referred to as Certified SEO. Personal information means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you.
Our Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Services generally. This Policy is written to be readable rather than exhaustive; if you have a question it does not answer, please contact us using the details in Section 19.

1. What This Policy Covers
This Policy covers personal information we handle when you:
- visit or browse Certified SEO.com;
- purchase a course, digital product, or other Service;
- create an account or use a member area or community feature;
- fill in a form, sign up for a list, or contact us for support;
- receive email or other communications from us; or
- use any software, tool, or dashboard we make available.
It does not cover the practices of third-party websites and services, which have their own policies (see Section 11).
2. Information We May Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following categories of information. Not every category applies to every visitor or customer, and much of it is optional — if you only browse the Website, you generally do not need to give us any personal information at all.
- Contact details — name, email address, and phone number where you provide it.
- Billing and transaction details — billing name and address, the products you purchased, order and subscription history, and records of refunds or support related to a purchase. See Section 3 on payment card information.
- Account information — username, password (stored in hashed form), and profile details you choose to add.
- Course and activity information — which courses or materials you have access to, your progress through lessons, downloads, and, where offered, quiz or completion records.
- Communications and support — the content of emails, forms, support tickets, and other messages you send us, and our replies.
- Community content — anything you post in a community or member area where we offer one. Content you post may be visible to other members and, depending on the setting, to the public.
- Technical and usage information — IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, dates and times of access, and similar information collected automatically when you use the Website.
- Cookie and similar technology data — see Section 6.
We do not ask you to provide sensitive categories of information such as government identification numbers, health information, or precise geolocation in order to use the Services, and we ask that you do not send us such information.
3. Payment Information
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. When you pay us, your card or bank details are submitted to that provider, which handles the transaction under its own privacy policy and security standards.
We generally do not receive or store complete payment card numbers. We do receive and keep transaction records, which may include the type of card, the last digits, the expiry date, the amount, and whether the payment succeeded, so that we can fulfill your order, provide support, handle refunds, and keep proper financial records.
Please see PaymentsAI, Stripe, Glacier Family of Banks, and Authorize.net for their terms and privacy policies.
4. How We Collect Information
- Directly from you — when you register, purchase, fill in a form, post in a community area, or contact us.
- Automatically — through cookies and similar technologies, and through server logs, when you use the Website or a tool.
- From service providers — for example, our payment provider tells us whether a payment succeeded, and our email provider tells us whether a message was delivered, opened, or clicked.
- From third-party platforms — if you reach us through an advertising, affiliate, or social platform, or connect a third-party account to one of our tools, we may receive limited information from that platform in line with its own policies and your settings there.
Affiliates and Resellers
We may work with affiliates, resellers, and referral partners who promote or sell our services. If you purchase or inquire about our services through one of these partners, we may share certain information with them, and they may share certain information with us, to the extent necessary to:
- Process and fulfill your order or service request
- Confirm your identity, eligibility, or account status
- Verify that a sale or referral occurred and calculate any commissions owed
- Provide customer support and manage your account
- Comply with legal and contractual obligations
The information shared may include your name, contact details, business information, order or subscription details, and other information you provide in connection with the purchase or inquiry. We may also contact you or the affiliate to confirm or clarify details related to your transaction.
Affiliates and resellers are required to handle your information in accordance with applicable law and our agreements with them. However, affiliates may have their own privacy policies governing information they collect directly from you, and we encourage you to review those policies. We do not sell your personal information to affiliates for their own independent marketing purposes unless we notify you and, where required by law, obtain your consent.
5. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- deliver the courses, digital products, and other Services you purchase, and grant and manage your access to them;
- create and maintain your account;
- process transactions, issue receipts, and handle refunds and chargebacks;
- provide customer support and respond to your questions;
- send transactional and service messages, such as order confirmations, access instructions, course updates, password resets, and notices about changes to our terms or policies;
- operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Website, our courses, and any tools we offer;
- understand how the Services are used, in aggregate, so we can make them better;
- protect the security and integrity of the Services, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse, and unauthorized sharing of course content, and enforce our Terms;
- meet legal, tax, accounting, and record-keeping obligations, and establish or defend legal claims; and
- send marketing communications where you have consented or where the law otherwise permits it — see Section 7.
We do not use personal information to make decisions about you by automated means that would have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Along with similar technologies such as pixels, tags, local storage, and software development kits, they let a site recognize your device, remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how the site is used.
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the Website to work — for example, to keep you signed in to your account and to keep your cart and checkout working. We may also use technologies that help us measure how the Website is used, and technologies operated by advertising or marketing providers.
Analytics, Advertising, and Third-Party Tracking Technologies
Our website uses cookies, pixels, tags, web beacons, and similar technologies provided by third parties to understand how visitors use our site, measure the performance of our marketing, and deliver advertising. These include:
- Google Analytics, which collects information such as pages visited, time on site, device and browser type, approximate location, and referring sources, so we can analyze traffic and improve our site.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which allows us to measure the effectiveness of our ads, build custom audiences, and show ads to people who have visited our site or interacted with our content on Facebook, Instagram, and other Meta platforms.
- Other third-party pixels and advertising tools, such as those from Google Ads, LinkedIn, Microsoft/Bing, TikTok, or similar providers, which may be used to measure conversions and to target or retarget advertising.
These third parties may collect or receive information about your activity on our site, including your IP address, device identifiers, cookie IDs, and browsing behavior, and may combine it with information they collect from other sites and services. They may use this information for their own purposes in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not control how these third parties use the data they collect.
Your choices and how to opt out
Because these technologies are operated by third parties, we cannot opt you out on their behalf. You can limit or opt out of tracking and targeted advertising through the following:
- Google Analytics: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
- Google Ads personalization: Visit https://adssettings.google.com
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram): Adjust your ad preferences at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences and your off-Meta activity settings at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences
- Industry opt-out tools: Visit the Digital Advertising Alliance at https://optout.aboutads.info, the Network Advertising Initiative at https://optout.networkadvertising.org, or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance at https://optout.networkadvertising.org (for users in Europe)
- Mobile devices: Use your device settings to limit ad tracking or reset your advertising identifier (for example, “Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS or “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android).
- Browser controls: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and send “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. Note that blocking cookies may affect site functionality, and some tracking technologies may not be fully blocked by cookie settings alone.
You may also manage cookie preferences through the cookie banner or preference center on our site, where available. Where required by law, we will honor opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control.
7. Marketing Communications
If you buy from us, sign up for a list, or otherwise ask to hear from us, we may send you emails about our courses, new products, offers, and educational content.
You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, by adjusting your email preferences where we offer them, or by contacting us. Once you opt out we will stop sending marketing email, though it may take a short time for the change to take effect across our systems.
Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional and service messages — for example order confirmations, access details, billing notices, and important updates about the Services — because those are needed to provide what you purchased.
Should you have opted into any program that initiates SMS/text messaging, you can unsubscribe at any time by replying “stop” or “unsubscribe.”
8. When We May Share Information
We share personal information only as described in this Policy, including in the following circumstances:
- Service providers — companies that perform services for us, such as website and course hosting, content delivery, payment processing, email and communications delivery, analytics, customer support tooling, and IT and security services. They receive only what they need to perform their function and are expected to protect it and use it only for that purpose.
- Professional advisers — accountants, auditors, insurers, and lawyers, where they need the information to advise us.
- Authorities and legal claims — where we are required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where disclosure is necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights, or to investigate suspected fraud, security incidents, or violations of our Terms.
- Protection of people and property — where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to prevent harm to someone’s safety, rights, or property.
- Business transfers — see Section 16.
- With your direction — where you ask us to share information, or connect a third-party service to your account.
9. How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this Policy, and then for as long as we are required or reasonably need to keep it after that.
In practice, how long we keep something depends on whether you still have an account or access with us, whether we need the information to provide support or handle a dispute, how long tax, accounting, and consumer-protection law requires us to keep transaction records, and whether we need it to enforce our Terms or defend a legal claim. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove its connection to you.
10. How We Protect Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, and we expect our service providers to do the same.
No website, system, or method of transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that personal information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed without authorization. You also play a part: please use a strong, unique password, keep your login credentials to yourself, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
11. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Services may link to, embed, or work alongside third-party websites, platforms, and tools — for example video hosting, payment pages, social media, and SEO tools discussed in our courses. Those third parties are controlled by their own operators and have their own privacy policies and terms. We are not responsible for their practices, and this Policy does not apply to them. Please review their policies before providing information to them.
12. Children’s Privacy
The Services are intended for adults using them for business or professional development, and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will make efforts to delete it.
13. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have some or all of the following rights in relation to your personal information:
- to know what personal information we hold about you and to get a copy of it;
- to have inaccurate information corrected;
- to have information deleted, subject to exceptions such as records we must keep by law;
- to receive certain information in a portable format;
- to restrict or object to certain processing;
- to withdraw consent where we rely on consent; and
- to opt out of certain uses of your information, such as marketing or targeted advertising.
Not every right applies to every person or every situation, and some are subject to conditions and exemptions under the law that applies to you.
To make a request, contact us. We will ask for enough information to verify who you are before we act, so that we do not disclose or delete someone’s information at the request of the wrong person. If you use an authorized agent, we may ask for proof of their authority. We will respond within the time the applicable law requires. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
14. U.S. State Privacy Rights
Several U.S. states have comprehensive privacy laws that give residents rights over their personal information. Whether a particular law applies to a business depends on statutory thresholds such as revenue and the number of residents whose information it processes.
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have additional privacy rights, including the rights listed in Section 13 and, in some states, the right to opt out of targeted advertising or of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to appeal a decision we make about your request. To exercise any of these rights, or to appeal a decision, contact us.
15. International Users
Certified SEO operates from the United States, and information we collect is processed and stored there and in other countries where our service providers operate. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from those where you live. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
If you are in a region with its own data protection law — for example the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, Switzerland, Canada, or Brazil — you may have rights under that law, including those described in Section 13, and you may be entitled to complain to your local data protection authority.
Certified SEO does not knowingly offers its Services to, or monitor, individuals in the EEA or UK.
16. Business Transfers
If Certified SEO is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or insolvency, personal information may be reviewed by prospective parties under confidentiality obligations and may be transferred as part of the transaction. If personal information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy as a result, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
17. Legal and Protective Disclosures
We may access, preserve, and disclose personal information where we reasonably believe it is required or permitted by law, or necessary to comply with legal process, to respond to a lawful government request, to enforce our Terms, to detect or investigate fraud, security incidents, or unauthorized sharing of our course content, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Certified SEO, our customers, or the public.
18. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as our Services, our tools, or the law change. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and post the new version here. If a change is material, we will make a reasonable effort to give you additional notice. Please check this page from time to time; the version in effect when information is collected is the one that applies to that information.
