Going to embarrass this person, because she deserves it. Her name is Grace, and she’s amazing.
She fights imposter syndrome, but is slowly seeing her greatness and impact she makes on her community, a tribe in Arizona called Pascua Yaqui.
She shared something in my free group that I know is meant to be seen by more people, so I’m pasting a summary of her words below…
“When I first started SEO, I was completely overwhelmed. The information was deep. My brain felt like it was buffering.
But here’s what I actually did, I listened, I implemented, then I listened and implemented again.
I’ve taken Damon’s course more times than I can count, and every single time something new clicked.
I went from overwhelmed newbie to the go-to SEO person helping shape outreach at a major university. All built on the foundation of this course.
I was given access to update the University of Arizona website.
I started slowly applying Damon’s framework, on page optimization, keyword intent, content structure, internal links, all the unsexy stuff that actually works. This department usually saw 6 to 8 students enroll.
After methodically applying what I learned, we hit a milestone I will never forget…
28 students enrolled.
For the first time ever.
Real results. Real impact. Real people in seats.
This course is not just about algorithms. It opens real doors.”
Social media makes us all think we need a billion dollars or a billion views to change the world.
I sit behind a desk all day at my house. That doesn’t sound sexy, but the reach is huge (and I’m small relative to others’ reaches). One of those I reached is Grace.
Grace also sits at a laptop, trying to figure things out. But she’s trying where she’s at, and it’s working. She literally just changed the lives of dozens of people by exposing them to what she’s learning.
She’s not at the finish line. She’s at the starting line, just 20 paces ahead. But that’s all you need to be able to lead successfully is to be ahead just a few steps and be willing to show others.
She’s not reinventing the wheel. She’s documenting the journey. She’s learning and sharing in real time.
You can dramatically change the world from exactly where you’re at.
