I don’t get why some SEO’s obsess over Google’s “crawl budget.” It’s a gauge, not a trophy.
It’s been confirmed countless times that Googlebot’s crawl limits will go up or down based on:
- How regularly you publish new, value-added content.
If you post a blog only every few months, Google isn’t going to be coming back that often.
- Your site’s capacity and needs. Not your feelings about “indexing issues.”
If your host chokes or responds slowly, Google backs off. If you have a fast loading, mobile friendly website, Google stops by more often to see what’s new.
